Sphero Indi: how does the robot work?

So, what is Sphero's indi robot and how does it work? Students can use this unique robot with or without a screen. The colored silicone tiles are one of the most important elements of learning with the indi. They are available in a variety of colors, each corresponding to a distinct activity. The indi is equipped with color sensors and is programmed to detect each color as it moves across the carefully placed colored tiles. It performs a move or action related to that color each time it moves over a colored tile!

For example, the green tile tells the indi to speed up, the yellow tile to slow down, the red tile to stop and so on. Other tiles allow the indi to turn 90 degrees and 45 degrees. Using the indi in class or at home, students can develop their creativity, solve puzzles, etc. by arranging the tiles and creating a maze.
