Thymio Wireless Kit Do It Yourself
The good news about Wireless Thymio is that it is retro-compatible!
If you already have a Thymio and you want to free it from its USB cable, all you need is a Wireless DIY kit!
You have a Thymio? Upgrade it and make it Wireless!
The Wireless DIY kit allows your Thymio to be programmed wirelessly. The advantages of this new features are numerous:
Distant programming
You can let the robot on the playground while programming it
Distant control
You keep a continuous control of the robot and can stop it remotely if needed
Visual feedback in VPL
You can see when each part of the program is executed
Feedback of all variables in real time
Check the values of the sensors, change the motor speed, and much more
Integrated real-time plotting
Plot variables and events in real-time
Inter-robot wireless communication
Wireless Thymio can use its wireless module to communicate with other Wireless Thymio up to 50 meters
Warning
This procedure should be done only if you have experience in electronics and soldering. Any damage caused to the robot due to incorrect manipulation will cancel the robot's warranty.
Compatibility
A small proportion of the existing Thymio cannot be upgraded! Thymio robots sold before May 2012 are not compatible. To check whether your robot can become a Wireless Thymio, simply flip it and look between the wheels

Upgrade Thymio's firmware with the firmware V9 or above
Open your Thymio, solder the module and close the robot again
