The LAMP:bit has connectors that allow the microbit to be screwed/clipped directly onto it. In appearance and function, it is designed to look like a street lamp. It is an excellent card for transport applications, and has been designed to match the STOP:bit's style so that they can be used in the same projects.
Power to the card is provided by the micro:bit which is connected to it via the 0V and 3V pins.

The board also features a phototransistor that can be used to react to changes in ambient light, allowing the white LED to be switched on and off independently. For timed switching, the project could include the Kitronik RTC card for a different type of autonomy.
