The Robot Operating System (ROS) is an open source environment for the development of autonomous systems. Thanks to its large user community, the possibilities offered by this framework are constantly expanding. The Turtlebot3 Waffle is equipped with a Raspberry Pi board, a ROBOTIS 360° LiDAR system, an OpenCR control unit, a Raspberry Pi camera and two Dynamixel servo motors for locomotion.
Why is this robot so special and what can I do with it?
The ROBOTIS TURTLEBOT3 is probably the most affordable development platform for simultaneous mapping and localisation (SLAM) and navigation. Its high quality components allow the generation and processing of reliable measurement data. In addition, the OpenCR control board offers numerous expansion possibilities, for example to drive a robotic arm or integrate additional sensors. Ideal applications for the ROBOTIS TURTLEBOT3 are SLAM and navigation.
