The Wind Energy Science Kit lets you build a miniature power generation system that converts wind into electrical energy. Experiment with the angle of the turbine blades and find the optimum number of blades to generate electricity.
The kit includes three types of profiled blades based on NASA aerodynamics and one type of polypropylene sheet blade, giving you the opportunity to find the perfect balance between wind resistance, weight and blade angle.
Horizon's Wind Energy Science Kit allows you to build a miniature power generation system that converts wind into electrical energy. The kit includes three types of airfoil blades based on NASA aerodynamics and one type of polypropylene sheet blade, giving you the opportunity to find the perfect balance between wind resistance, weight and blade angle. You can experiment with the angle of the turbine blades and discover the optimum number of blades to generate electricity.
With the included LED module, you can demonstrate the power output created by the Wind Kit and use this energy to illuminate the LEDs on the module. This LED module is intended for a basic demonstration, but for more detailed experiments and to explore the full educational value of your Wind Kit, we recommend the purchase of the Horizon Renewable Energy Monitor (FCJJ-24). Use this device to measure the voltage produced under your experimental conditions and, in combination with Horizon's electrolysers, you can carry out a multitude of experiments.
