Horizon's Electric Mobility Experiment Set offers students a unique opportunity to explore the sustainable transport solutions of the future. The kit allows them to measure the superior energy density and power of super-capacitors, as well as to compare different fuel cell technologies that convert elements into electrical energy: the direct ethanol fuel cell, the salt fuel cell, and two types of PEM micro-cell using the energy efficiency of hydrogen stored in the HYDROSTIK PRO metal cartridge. In addition, the kit can be used to demonstrate the power of the sun using the solar panel and to generate electricity using a hand crank.
Students can experiment with different energy sources to power a car, including a hydrogen fuel cell, a salt fuel cell, solar energy, a supercapacitor with crank, hydrogen gas or hydride, and a battery. The kit allows six different models to be built from a single chassis, providing an in-depth understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each energy solution. The kit is also compatible with all other Horizon measurement and data logging kits.
