The MonkMakes Plant Monitor Board is a capacitive humidity sensor/counter with integrated temperature and relative humidity measurement. It is compatible with the micro:bit, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Pico and most other microcontroller boards. The board includes alligator clip rings for use with the BBC micro:bit and Adafruit Clue, as well as pre-soldered header pins for Arduino and other microcontroller boards.
In addition, it has an easy-to-use UART serial interface, an additional analogue output for humidity only and a built-in RGB LED.

Use : The front of the tip should be as close to the edge of the planter as possible, with the electronics facing away from the planter and the tip driven into the soil only to the white line. Once switched on, the plant monitoring panel will immediately display the humidity via the built-in LED. Red means dry and green means wet.
Coding : The microcontroller you choose to use with the MonkMakes plant monitor will determine the coding language you use. Detailed guides are available for download which cover the following languages: BBC micro:bit (Makecode), Raspberry Pi 4 (Python), Raspberry Pi Pico (MicroPython) and Arduino (Arduino C - SoftSerial).
